Applying to The Sound School

Any student, parent, or guardian has the right to request admission materials under the Connecticut School Choice Law. Individual districts and towns designate VoAg centers where they may send students. To view our current participating districts, Click Here. If you reside in a sending district, you can apply by downloading an application directly from this web site. We can also send you an application, or you can obtain an application from your 8th grade guidance counselor.

Admission to a VoAg center is dependent upon demonstrated interest and good standing in your sending school. We admit students on a first come, first served basis. Through our interview process, we will rate you for interest. Good standing is determined by your final 8th grade report card. Conditional acceptance may be awarded, but final acceptance is dependent upon successful completion of your 8th grade. This rating will be the basis for a determination of your eligibility for admission.

All completed applications need to be returned to The Sound School Regional Vocational Aquaculture Center. We admit students who are entering their freshman year as well as students who are entering sophomore, junior, and senior years.
