Supervised Occupational Experiences (S.O.E.)
All students that attend The Sound School are required to complete a Supervised Occupational Experience each and every year.
The S.O.E. is a graduation requirement. The State of Connecticut also mandates this requirement of participation, as The Sound School is one of Connecticut's 19 VoAg Centers. This experience must meet the minimum requirement of 200 hours per year. Students may not earn all S.O.E. hours in any one year. S.O.E. hours must relate to the student's S.O.E. Plan. If you earn hours that are not listed on your plan, you will not earn S.O.E. hours. Upon completion of the 200 S.O.E. hours, students are awarded 1 non-academic credit, these credits go towards the student's Aquaculture or Agriculture Completion Certificate.
