The Sound School Competitive Rowing team is open to all students in grades 9 - 12.Practice is conducted after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students learn basic rowing techniques, on our ergs (rowing machines) and then transition to dories; they learn small boat handling and the basics of navigation. Students who show strong commitment and skill level can row with our extremely competitive varsity rowing team. The Sound School participates in rowing competitions throughout the school year in Hull, Mass, and other locations in New England. During the winter season the team keeps in condition on our Concept II Rowing machines and attends indoor competitions held in Connecticut.

All Sound School students may try out for sports teams at the comprehensive high schools, Cross or Hillhouse.
