Parent Advisory Council
The Sound School Parent Advisory Council, otherwise know as PAC, focuses on bringing a sense of community between the parents, staff and students at The Sound School. With over 20 towns from Connecticut sending children to The Sound School, this can be very difficult. PAC sponsors regular community service projects where we encourage not only the students, but also their families to get involved. This year our annual Book Drive collected over 1000 books to donate to victims of hurricane Katrina. Regular food drives, coat drives, Green-up/Clean-up projects and the National Kidney Foundation Walk are just a few of the opportunities we offer.
One of PAC's biggest accomplishments has been our listserve. This is a way that parents can stay in touch with what is happening at the Sound School. Communication is key with so many people living out of District and with so many parents in the work force. Through daily email parents can feel a part of the community.
The Sound School PAC meets regularly on the second Tuesday of the month in the Library Media Center. Please join us. Our meetings are brief, but packed with a lot of information. If you would like more information about The Sound School PAC, please email us at soundpac1@yahoo.com.
