Adult Education
The adult education program of The Sound School is offered to area adults and out of school youth who have an interest in aquaculture science, marine biology, marine construction and boating courses, to name a few. Topics recently offered in our program are Marine Fish Nutrition, Canvas Sail Making, Bivalve Aquaculture Disease, Application of Genetics and Breeding, Fishing Gear Technology and Tropical Fish Aquarium Set Up. We also offer a selection of agriculture-based programs such as flower arrangement and raising worms for fishing!
Safe Boating Certification and Navigation Courses, Make Your Own Fishing Rod, Fly-Tying, Fishing Gear Technology are some popular topics. The Sound School Adult Education Program aims to develop and broaden course offerings and industry wide workshops in the coming years. Our purpose and our mission is to educate those adults who want to learn and expand their knowledge and interest in vocational and technical pursuits relating to aquaculture and agriculture by providing meaningful and creative learning experiences in a cooperative setting. The cost of these courses is nominal.
